Rinse and recycle campaign launched
Rinse and recycle is the new message of Norfolk's successful Recycling Revolution.
The 'revolution' has meant thousands of tonnes more waste is being brought to the county's recycling plant since £8 million of improvements were made five months ago.
This has been a great success but the challenge now is to boost how much of this increase can actually be recycled by reducing contamination.
- The two main contamination issues are when loads are brought in with items covered in food or liquid residue or when recyclables are contained in carrier bags.
- Taking just a couple of extra minutes to rinse out your recycling with water is really important.
A new three minute video at the recycling plant shows how waste is sorted at the plant and the importance of only putting the correct and cleaned recyclable items in the recycling bin.
