Norwich City Council
Norwich City Council provides a wide range of waste and recycling services throughout the city.
Kerbside recycling is available for most homes in the city, with special solutions such as communal areas, mini recycling banks and bring banks in places where a direct doorstep collection is not available eg flats.
Alternate weekly collections (AWC) have been successfully rolled out in the south and west of the city. The new collection scheme is being introduced in order to reduce the amount of waste that is sent to landfill, and enable the authority to meet strict government targets, making Norwich a cleaner and safer place to live and work. To do this we need to help people think more about what they are throwing away and how they are dong so. The scheme is being rolled out in stages over the next two years. A new garden waste collection service is also being introduced to the city - for £35 a year people can sign up to the fortnightly service which accepts most garden waste and sends it to be composted.
